Police chief: Secret Service investigating GPD officer
The U.S. Secret Service informed Guam Police Department Chief Stephen Ignacio that one of his officers is under investigation.
Ignacio said the Secret Service cleared him to tell senators a GPD officer is under investigation and others may be involved.
“They named the member of the Guam Police Department to me. So they identified they were doing a criminal investigation,” Ignacio told lawmakers at an oversight hearing Wednesday. “The other thing that came out is that other officers within the Guam Police Department were part of this investigation, but they were not named to me.”

The search for Ronat Chutaro is headed into its third week, and Guam Police Department Chief Stephen Ignacio asked the public to please keep an eye out for the 25-year-old man.
Chutaro is a wanted suspect in connection with the stabbing of 54-year-old Arthur Wakuk, which occurred Dec. 8 in an apartment parking lot behind the Docomo headquarters in Tamuning.
On Dec. 14, Wakuk died of the injuries he suffered in the attack, which changed the scope of the investigation from an assault to a possible homicide, said Ignacio. Chutaro is now the prime suspect in the case.
Police released a wanted flyer for Chutaro on Dec. 11 and investigation teams have scoured his known whereabouts, which include apartment complexes in Tamuning, the Tamuning Mayor’s office, beaches in East Agana and Tamuning, Tumon village, and Upper Tumon.
