The investment is part of a £26 million national fund to have all NHS doctors, nurses and other clinical staff on e-rostering systems by 2021, shown to be particularly invaluable during the pandemic
E-rostering can save time and effort when redeploying staff, digitally matching staff skillset with patient care requirements and geography, while managing working hours and pay to save clinicians time and effort every week
NHS hospitals, clinics and pharmacies across 38 more trusts will be able to save staff time and money by rolling out digital shift planning, known as e-rostering systems, thanks to £7.5 million government funding.
Province reaches tentative deal with NLTA, final agreement with private and community ambulance operators
The provincial government has reached a tentative agreement the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association.
The NLTA’s collective agreement has been extended until Aug. 31, 2022. It includes a wage increase and reduction of long-term liabilities through changes to post-employment benefits for new employees.
NLTA members will vote on the deal in the coming weeks. It follows similar tentative deals reached with CUPE and the Association of Allied Health Professionals this week.
The province has also reached a final agreement with private and community ambulance operators. Their service agreements are extended to March 31, 2022, with a four per cent wage increase per full-time employee over two years.

Twitter’s Chief Executive, Jack Dorsey on Wednesday defended the platform’s decision to suspend U.S. President, Donald Trump’s account indefinitely.
Recall that Twitter banned permanently Trump’s account after the attack on the U.S. Capitol by a pro-Trump mob last week.
Twitter in a statement said after a close review of recent tweets from Trump’s account and the context around them, specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter, it decided to permanently suspend the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.
However, Dorsey in a tweet on Wednesday explained that the ban came after series of warnings issued to the American President.
