Kota Kinabalu: Pressure continued to mount on the Federal Government to ensure Sabah achieves “herd immunity” quickly so that the economy can reopen earlier.

He explained that various approaches have been implemented by the State Government such as the opening of more vaccine administration centres (PPV) and the Covid-19 vaccination outreach programme but it would be difficult to achieve vaccination targets if vaccine supply is insufficient.

KOTA KINABALU: The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) has hailed the Sabah government’s decision to continue with the current standard operating procedure subject to several minor adjustments, despite a nationwide movement control order starting Wednesday (May 12).
Its president Tan Sri TC Goh said the move will keep the economic activities moving, allowing the people to stay afloat under the present harsh economic conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is crucial to ensure that Sabah could continue to operate under the present conditional MCO, which allows the people to carry on with their lives and economic activities, said Goh, who is also the president of the Federation of Sabah and Labuan Hokkien Associations and Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong).
