The National Vice President 1 of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Usman, has expressed dismay with the Minister of Labour and Productivity for not including their members among the beneficiaries of the extended Federal Government Special Public Works Programme of 774,000 job opportunities to Nigerians which was lunch last weekend in Kebbi. He stated this while briefing newsmen on Monday in Brinin Kebbi, saying that the programme which was launched on Saturday by the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Jika Mallami in Kebbi State did not involve their members among the beneficiaries. “Our members can even do better than people without disability. There is a need to include people with disabilities in any Government programme, we are also complete human beings like others” he added.
The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, (SAN) has said that, the extended Federal Government Special Public Works Programme of 774,00 jobs opportunities to Nigerians was part of deliberate efforts and conscious strategies to address the ballooning population of unemployed youths and rising insecurity in some parts of the country.
