Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas has said that the decision on schools in Punjab will be announced in the next 24 hours.

The tweet comes a day after the NCOC decided to reopen schools and universities in districts with less than a 5% coronavirus positivity rate.
Govt Extends Closure of Schools & Colleges
The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced that the educational institutes will remain closed for another week. FDE has extended the ongoing closure of Islamabad-based schools and colleges until May 23.
After a week-long lockdown from May 8 to May 16, all workplaces and transportation services have resumed operation.
Dawn quoted an official at the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training saying that despite no directive from the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC), FDE went ahead and issued a notification to maintain the closure of educational institutions from 17-23 May.

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) is optimistic about receiving funds in the upcoming budget for its mega project, aimed at provision of basic facilities in 189 educational institutions of the federal capital.
A senior officer of FDE said that the project, ‘Provision of basic educational facilities in educational institutions of ICT’ worth Rs6.9 billion will be placed before the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) after Eid for approval.
The officer said that earlier CDWP had raised some objections on the proposed PC-1.
