ISLAMABAD: Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood was assured by the British Council Pakistan on Thursday that the body will ensure that all coronavirus standard operating procedures are followed during the upcoming O and A level examinations. The head of British Council and Cambridge in Pakistan came to see me today. Cambridge International Examinations on Thursday said that it wishes to tell schools, students, and parents that it is working closely with British Council and all COVID-19 safety measures will be strictly followed in all its exam centres across Pakistan.
The development comes after the British Council Pakistan, earlier in the day, had assured Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood that all coronavirus standard operating procedures will be followed during the upcoming examinations.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood is chairing a meeting at the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) to discuss the current COVID-19 situation with all the health and education ministers, the education ministry said in a tweet on Tuesday. The NCOC meeting will take stock of the pandemic situation in the country and decide the fate of schools, it said.
The third wave of coronavirus has wreaked havoc in the country with the daily caseload exceeding 5,000. The number of active cases has more than tripled in the last few weeks.
