APAPA BLOCKADE: Police, LATSMA pass buck over scuttling of e-Call Up system

THE relevant traffic agencies responsible for restoring sanity on the Apapa Oshodi expressway, yesterday, engaged in buck-passing over an alleged conspiracy to scuttle the electronic Call-Up system, as the gridlock worsened.
The agencies saddled with the responsibility of controlling traffic in the axis are the Nigeria Police, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and the Lagos Special Traffic Management and Enforcement Compliance Team.

The Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Aisha Bashir, has granted pardon to 47 inmates of the federal prisons in Lafia, Keffi, and Nasarawa, who were awaiting trial.
Bashir made this known on Thursday in Wamba Local Government Area (LGA) after a tour of custodian centres on Thursday, NAN reports.
”The visit is in compliance with the presidential directive to decongest custodian facilities as part of measures to contain further spread of COVID-19.
”Under my watch, the judiciary in the state would work towards ensuring speedy administration of justice as well as tackle the menace of justice stagnation.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, the governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila are currently in Benue State for the commissioning ceremony of newly constructed Ultra-morden Tor Tiv Palace in Gboko Local Government of the state.
Also to be commissioned is another three major roads in Gboko newly constructed by the Governor Samuel Ortom’s administration.
The event is scheduled to take place by 10am Thursday morning.
DAILY POST gathered that some of the invitees such as the Rivers State Governor would be awarded chieftaincy title during the event.

In a bid to discourage illegal revenue agents from defrauding the Delta State Government and members of the public, a joint task force to help secure all revenue leakages was on Thursday inaugurated in Asaba, the state capital.
The joint task force is segmented into two, the Taskforce Committee to checkmate revenue leakages with Mr Malachi Monye as its Field Coordinator, and the Local Government Revenue Collectors’ Committee on Haulage, with Mr Kenneth Efeizomor as Field Coordinator.
Performing the inauguration, the Chairman of the State Internal Revenue Service, Sir Monday Onyeme charged members of the task force to be good ambassadors of the state by checking the unwholesome activities of revenue agents in order to shore up the state’s internally generated revenue profile.
