FRSC: One woman killed, 17 others injured in Bauchi auto-crash March 17, 2021 One woman was confirmed dead and 17 others were injured, in a road crash that occurred along Bauchi-Gombe road, on Wednesday, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). Yusuf Abdullahi, the Sector Commander, of the FRSC in Bauchi state, told newsmen, in Bauchi that the accident occurred in Dungulbi village, in Bauchi Local Government, when two vehicles collided with each other, as a result of wrongful overtaking. Abdullahi explained that a total of 18 people were involved in the accident between a Toyota Hummer bus with plate number FG25C04 and a commercial Ford vehicle, with a plate number KTG 808 TT.

Official: Woman dies in Lagos-Abeokuta expressway accident March 16, 2021 The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) on Tuesday confirmed the death of a woman in an accident that involved a commercial bus on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. Four others sustained varying degrees of injuries in the lone accident which occurred at Dalemo Junction. Adekunle Ajibade, the Sango-Ota area commander of TRACE, told newsmen in Ota, Ogun, that the accident happened at about 11.00 a.m. Ajibade said it occurred when a commercial bus with registration number MUS 886 XE, heading toward Toll-Gate from Sango-Ota, lost control due to brake failure. He said the bus crossed to the other side of the road, where it hit the gate of Ascon Petrol Station, beside Zenith Bank Plc.

This was confirmed to journalists in Bauchi on Tuesday by the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Bauchi State Sector Command, Yusuf Abdullahi. According to Abdullahi, the vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, was discovered by some local fishermen three days after it crashed into the river. The sector commander informed that the incident was reported at the Bara Area Command of the FRSC, adding that personnel of the Corps were immediately deployed to the scene for a rescue operation.

Six Confirmed Dead as Fuel Tanker Rams into Tricycles in Akwa Ibom

The accident was said to have occurred few kilometres to Uyo, the state capital. The truck caught fire and burnt down the two tricycles and their passengers. Akwa Ibom State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Ogah Ochi, confirmed the accident, saying a preliminary investigation conducted by the officers of the corps indicated that two trucks were involved in the accident. He added that the second truck that caused the accident ran away. “Actually six people died – one female and five males. A detailed investigation will come out by tomorrow. Our investigators have gone there and the preliminary report they have given confirms that two trucks were actually involved in the crash, but one escaped.
