Hit-and-run driver kills pedestrian in Anambra FRSC

A hit-and-run driver, on Friday killed a male adult who was crossing the road at Aroma junction along Onitsha-Enugu expressway in Anambra.
Mr Andrew Kumapayi, State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka.
Kumapayi said the accident occurred at about 6 p.m.
“Eyewitness account shows that the pedestrian was knocked down by the speeding driver while crossing the road.

“The Rescue team from FRSC Headquarters was alerted. On getting to the scene, they found the man but there was nothing to identify him.
FRSC moves to enforce uniform colour for FCT school buses
“It is advisable for all our school buses to be painted in an approved school colour, it is a law and a regulation by the government and must be obeyed.”
The
Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it will soon commence the enforcement of a uniform colour for school buses in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Gora Wobin, the FRSC, FCT Sector Commander, disclosed this on Saturday in Abuja, during a stakeholders town hall meeting with school proprietors.
The town hall meeting was organised by the Lugbe unit command, of the FRSC, headed by its commander, Ameen Adewale.

FRSC warns against underage driving in Gombe

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Gombe State Command, has warned against underage driving in the state.
Mr Ibrahim Hassan, the Public Relations Officer of FRSC in the state gave the warning on Saturday while sensitising motorists in Zambuk Community, Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area of the state.
Hassan said that FRSC personnel were in the community as part of the command’s mandate to enlighten motorists on safety of lives and safe road-use.

“We are here in line with the directive by our Sector Commander, Ishaku Ibrahim to ensure that we create more awareness to increase more knowledge of road safety rules among motorists.”

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said it will soon commence the enforcement of a uniform colour for school buses in the Federal Capital Territory.
The submission was made at a town hall meeting was organised by the Lugbe unit command of the FRSC, headed by its commander, Mr Ameen Adewale.
The FRSC FCT Sector Commander, Mr Gora Wobin, who also had a chat with school proprietors during the meeting on Saturday said the move became necessary for easy identification of school buses by the FRSC.
He added that it will augur well for proprietors to paint their school buses in the approved colour.
