Dangote under fire as truck crushes AAUA students, others to death in Ondo

Daily Post Nigeria Published The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on the federal government to caution Dangote Company over incessant killings of Nigerians by its heavy duty trucks in every part of the country. Specifically, the students’ body condemned the owner of the company, Alhaji Aliko Dangote over recurring nonchalant attitude to the crushing of students by his company’s vehicles, the recent was the death of their Colleagues at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), on Saturday, January 22,2021. On that day, a cement-laden Dangote truck had rammed into a shop in the town and killed about ten persons, including some students of AAUA.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says no fewer than nine persons died while nine persons sustained injuries on Saturday evening in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State. Corps Public Education Officer Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Abuja. The accident occurred opposite the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba. Kazeem said that the accident occured on Saturday, involving an articulated vehicle, a mini bus and a car and that the accident was fatal. “The truck lost control and ran into some shops along the road. “Six bodies were deposited at Ikare Specialist Hospital morgue while some injured persons were also taken to the same hospital by the FRSC operatives for immediate treatment.
