The Bauchi State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Thursday, revealed the identities of some of the victims of last Sunday’s fatal accident in which 20 people were burnt beyond recognition at Tirwun in the outskirt of Bauchi.
The FRSC Sector Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi, while revealing the identities as contained in the passengers’ manifest of one of the vehicles, further informed that the death toll of the accident had increased to 21.
According to him, one of the two survivors of the accident died while receiving treatment at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, where the survivors, both female, were taken for treatment.

A Magistrate Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State has sentenced Mr Adeshina Adeyemo, a tricycle operator, to three months imprisonment for assaulting Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) personnel and stripping himself naked along Benin / Sapele road in July 2020.
He was said to have attacked Corps’ patrol operatives and damaging patrol vehicle belonging to FRSC.
FRSC spokesperson, Mr Bisi Kazeem, in a statement on Thursday in Abuja said Mr Adeshina was arraigned with a case file number MEV/117C/2020 before His Worship, Snr Magistrate F. Ojehumen of the Evbuoriaria Magistrate Court B on a 2 count charge bordering on conducting himself in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace; and for maliciously damaging FRSC patrol vehicle during patrol operations along Sapele-Benin road on July 16, 2020.

Two persons suspected to be husband and wife were yesterday crushed to death in an accident involving a Toyota Camry car, a Sino truck and a motorcycle around Odogbara, a few metres from NNPC station on the Sagamu-Ogijo road in Ogun State.
Spokesperson of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident to newsmen. He said the accident, which occurred at 7:40a.m., was caused by speeding, reckless riding and brake failure on the part of the motorcycle that had no registration number.
He stated that the motorcycle hit the Camry car, marked FKY-733 GF, at the rear, fell across the road and a truck coming behind crushed the two passengers on the motorcycle, while the rider sustained injuries.

No fewer than three persons were killed in an auto crash involving a 16-seater bus and an articulated vehicle at Celica bus stop, Ife-Ibadan Expressway in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday.
The tragedy, which struck early in the morning, was confirmed by the state police command and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

While the FRSC and the police gave the number of those killed in the accident as three, eyewitnesses said eight persons died in the ill-fated commercial bus.
