The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Command, has confirmed that one person died and others sustained varying degree of injuries in a fatal accident that involved a Suzuki Shuttle bus with registration number NKE46XA and a Mercedes Benz truck with registration number JJT613XA along Awka- Enugu-Onitsha expressway by New Parts Market, Onitsha, Anambra State.
According to an eyewitness, a total of four persons were on board containing four male adults. The bus suffered a bursts tyre while on a high speed and one male adult passenger jumped off the bus and was crushed by an oncoming truck.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it will start enforcing the National Identification Number (NIN) directive on driver’s license processing nationwide, with effect from Dec. 21.
Mr Bisi Kazeem, Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM), Corps Public Education Officer, announced in a statement on Wednesday, in Abuja.
Kazeem said that the enforcement became necessary following the Federal Government’s directives on harmonisation of citizens’ data by relevant agencies.
In compliance with the directive, Kazeem said the FRSC had earlier put members of the public on notice, urging them, particularly those going for their driver’s license processing, to adhere to the directives.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has approved the promotion of 4,134 traffic warden officers to their next ranks.
The beneficiaries include 65 officers who were elevated to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Traffic; 245 officers to Assistant Superintendent of Traffic II; 138 officers to Senior Traffic Warden; 3,683 men to Grade I and three men who were elevated from Grade III to Grade II.
This was contained in a statement on Thursday, by the force spokesman, DCP Frank Mba, titled, ‘IGP promotes 4,135 traffic Warden officers.’
It read, “The IG notes that the promotion of the officers is part of the ongoing efforts by the Force to ensure that deserving personnel are promoted accordingly, to encourage hard work and further entrench the culture of merit, excellence and dedication to duties.”
Meanwhile, FRSC confirmed this when it issued a statement via its Twitter handle, which was signed by Assistant Corps Marshal,
Bisi Kazeem, titled “FRSC commences enforcement of National Identification Number in driver’s licence processing,” on Wednesday. It stated:
“In compliance with the FG’s directive on the harmonisation of citizens’ data by relevant agencies, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) from 21/12/2020 will begin the enforcement of the NIN in the processing of driver’s license.
“As a follow up to that, FRSC Management has resolved that effective 21 December, 2020, all applicants for the National Driver’s Licence in Nigeria must present the National Identification Number from the National Identity Management Commission before they can be captured for any class of the licences produced by the FRSC.”
