Bode Saadu-Ilorin road accident claims 20 lives

Kwara State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Jonathan Owoade, confirmed the incident, NAN reports.
Owoade said that the cause of the accident was associated with over speeding and wrongful overtaking.
“The multiple Road traffic crash occurred at about 3 am today, at a location called Oloko area, which involved three vehicles: a blue commercial MAK Truck GGE614XM, a white commercial Mitsubishi canter Truck BRK534YX and a white Toyota Hummer bus KEY479YE,” Owoade said.
“Of the thirty-one persons involved in the crash, seventeen of the eighteen occupants of the bus were burnt beyond recognition as a result of the fire that gutted the bus.

The accident, it was gathered occurred around 6:50 pm on Thursday.
The fatal accident involved one Toyota Corolla with registration number; ABC463CQ and a Boxer motorcycle with registration number BDJ288UK.
The spokesperson, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Agnes Ogungbemi confirmed the accident.
She disclosed that three persons, two males and one female were involved in the accident.
Ogungbemi noted that the injured were taken to Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital (OAUTH), Ile-Ife, adding that the corpse of the woman has been deposited at the hospital morgue.

An accident involving a bus and Toyota, yesterday, claimed the lives of four staff of BN Ceramics Company, Ajaokuta, Kogi State while many were injured.
An eyewitness said both vehicles had a head-on collision when the driver of the bus overtook another vehicle at a sharp bend.
The Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Mr Solomon Agure, while confirming the accident, said three staff of the ceramics company died out of nine staff in the company’s vehicle.
He said the staff worked overnight and closed in the morning but unfortunately when their staff bus was taking them home, their vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle and three persons died on the spot.
