The man, a 56-year-old from Thatcham, was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred just after 8am this morning [Monday, May 10] between Ringmead and South Hill Road. No-one else was seriously hurt in the incident. Investigating officer Sergeant Matt Cadmore of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Taplow, said: “This collision occurred at a busy time of the day, and I am appealing to anybody who witnessed it to please make contact with police. “I would also urge anybody who has dash-cam to please check this and contact us either on 101 or online, quoting reference number 43210199242.
However, Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident. Investigating officer, PC Roslyn Bonney of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit based at Taplow, said: “We are investigating this incident in which sadly a man has died, our thoughts remain with his family at this difficult time. “We are asking any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who has dash-cam footage of the incident to please get in touch by calling 101 quoting reference 43210195752. “We would also like to thank the members of the public for their patience as we investigated this incident on scene.”

The family of a teenage boy who was hit by a van in Charvil is raising money for Thames Valley Air Ambulance after they assisted her son.
Guy Ferber, 14, suffered ‘serious injuries’ including a broken jaw after being hit by a Volkswagen Crafter at the entrance to Newlands Farm on the A4 Bath Road at around 3.15pm on Monday, April 26.
Following the incident, his mother Noa Ferber took to Facebook to set up a fundraiser in a bid to thank the emergency services and ‘give back’ to them for taking ‘such good care’ of her son and travelling to the Royal Berkshire Hospital with him.
