5 kids, 1 adult hospitalized after crash at N.J. intersection

Six people, including five children, were hospitalized with injuries after two vehicles collided in an intersection in North Hanover on Tuesday, authorities said.
The driver of the car with the five children inside went through a stop sign at the intersection of Jacobstown New Egypt Road and Meany Road and was hit by another vehicle just after 4:30 p.m, North Hanover police said Wednesday.
While all the injures are considered non-life-threatening, one child was flown to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, Sgt. Robert Duff said. The other children four children were brought to to Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly.

The fifth grader was at the festival with her family. She was on a ride identified in court documents as the Super Sizzler.
Attorneys for the family allege the ride was not stopped immediately after the girl was thrown off it, resulting in further injury. McMullen died later that day at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
A state police spokesman on Friday said the accident investigation is active.
Parents Amanda and Christopher McMullen have hired two law firms. Their attorneys have stated they are exploring wrongful death, survival action, and emotional distress lawsuits.
Cherry Hill attorney Louis DeVoto filed a request in December 2020 with the Middlesex County Superior Court for access to all state police reports. The state Attorney General s Office said the file is not considered a public record and a court order would be needed to release it, DeVoto told the court.

The assault took place near Union Street on December 29, 2019, according to Burlington County Prosecutor s Office, when the victim was walking home from a friend’s house when a man approached her, beat her up, and sexually assaulted her. The man also reportedly threatened to kill her. She sustained severe injuries in the attack, including fractures to her face, lost teeth, and a brain aneurism. She was treated at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
After police were informed of the assault, surveillance video of the area pointed them towards 29-year-old John Lewis, of Browns Mills.
Authorities in Burlington County say a man has been charged with attempted murder after severely beating his elderly roommate at the care facility where they both live.
Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Maple Shade Police Chief Christopher J. Fletcher say 51-year-old David P. Lake lived at The Palace Rehabilitation and Care Center in the 300 block of West Mill Road in Maple Shade.
Coffina s office says,
The investigation began after Maple Shade police and the Maple Shade First Aid Squad were dispatched to the facility on the morning of January 17 on a report of an assault.
The investigation revealed that Lake had attacked his 78-year-old roommate, who is immobile and non-verbal, while the victim was in his bed in their room.
