If you received more unemployment than entitled for almost any point last year, you might be able to apply for an over-payment waiver.
Buddy Hoskinson, executive director for the Kentucky Office of Unemployment, told the Pennyrile Area Development board of directors Monday that Senate Bill 7 was recently passed.
He said the waiver is only for over-payments made between January 27 to December 31, 2020.

People who sent emails through Kentucky’s unemployment assistance link at the start of the pandemic may not have had their inquiries read.
State Auditor Mike Harmon’s office says today that 400-thousand emails sent between March 19th and May 10th weren’t opened and were archived.
They would have contained everything from questions from people trying to get their unemployment benefits or with general questions.

The pandemic exposed a major issue reported on by WHAS11 Kentucky s system was not prepared to handle the massive amount of people applying for unemployed help at the same time. By the end of March, the backlog had skyrocketed.
