MCCRACKEN CO., KY (WSIL) - Kentucky State Police say two people are dead after a car crash in McCracken County, Kentucky. They say one of the deceased is the driver of a car who was in a pursuit.
Police say the crash happened Monday, August 2 around 1:45 p.m. The McCracken County Sheriff s Office contacted Kentucky State Police to investigate a crash at the intersection of US Highway 60 and Cairo Road. The Sheriff s Department said one of the cars was fleeing from police.
An initial investigation says 27-year-old Lamont X. Young of De Soto, Illinois, was driving a Honda Civic. Police say he was fleeing from a Sheriff s Deputy who tried to arrest Young.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â On Saturday night, Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers held a brief news conference concerning a shooting that involved an LPD officer.
Earlier Saturday, around 5:30 pm, Chief Weathers says Lexington Police officers were dispatched to a shots fired report in the 600-block of Marshall Lane.
While en route, Weathers says that the dispatch center received calls of someone outside shooting a firearm. An officer arrived and immediately observed gunfire. In response to the subject firing a weapon at the officer, the officer returned gunfire, striking the subject. The officer was not injured. The subject, a 21-year-old Black male sustained a serious injury to his front shoulder, which initially appears to be non-life-threatening at the scene, said Chief Weathers.

CORBIN, Ky. â The officer involved in the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old Corbin man was officially identified Friday as the Corbin Police Department released more details about the shooting. Family and friends of the teenager say the details don t portray the man they knew.
According to a statement from Corbin Police Chief Rusty Hedrick, Stephen Meadors, a 12-year veteran in the force, was off duty and at his home on Dogwood Cove in Corbin at 2:45 a.m. Feb. 14 when a neighbor contacted him about a person, later identified as Phillip Davenport, causing a disturbance and attempting to force entry into a neighborâs vehicle.
