Attorney Ben Crump Praises Grand Jurors Decision To File Petition To Impeach AG Daniel Cameron

Breonna Taylor Grand Jurors Call For KY AG s Impeachment (VIDEO)

SHOW TRANSCRIPT Three former grand jurors in Breonna Taylor s case have joined other petitioners calling for Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron to be impeached. The jurors submitted their petition to the Kentucky legislature Friday, according to attorney Kevin Glogower. The jurors names weren t disclosed. Glogower said: These are randomly selected citizens who were compelled to sit on a grand jury and were terribly misused by the most powerful law enforcement official in Kentucky. The petition accuses Cameron of breaching public trust, misrepresenting Grand Jury findings and failing to perform the duties of his office. These arguments for impeachment come in response to Cameron not pursuing charges in September against Louisville Metropolitan Police Department officers over Taylor s death.

The grand jurors have remained anonymous, though the petition was filed by Louisville attorney Kevin Glogower on their behalf.

Former LMPD Det Brett Hankison To Face Jury Trial In Late August

Credit Shelby County Detention Center The jury trial for former Louisville Metro Police detective Brett Hankison, one of the officers who shot at Breonna Taylor, will begin on August 31. His team hopes to move the trial outside Louisville. Hankison’s attorney, Stewart Matthews, said he plans to file a motion in the next two weeks to request a change of venue. Jefferson County Circuit Judge Ann Bailey Smith on Wednesday set the date for the jury trial during a pre-trial hearing conducted remotely due to COVID-19. Attorneys said during the hearing that all discovery for the case had been filed. She also scheduled an in-person hearing for March 25, to discuss the potential change of venue, indicating she might move the trial farther from Jefferson County than a neighboring county.
