SIDNEY Snow Pond Center for the Arts has been awarded $1,662 in sponsorship support funds by the Kennebec Valley Tourism Council in Augusta.
The funds are to be used for a marketing video, and will assist in the growth of tourism in Maine’s Kennebec Valley to produce a positive economic impact on the region.
Snow Pond was one of 12 sponsorship recipients awarded as part of the 2021 KVTC marketing partnership program. Application requests reached nearly $29,100. The organization was unable to fully fund all regional sponsorships to its members this year, but with the help of Brookfield Renewable U.S. it was able to fund about $19,350.
I am sure you have seen these signs around the area but what is the Kennebec Chaudiere?
It is a 230-mile route from Popham Beach to Quebec City in Canada. The corridor also and extends 16 miles from Rt 201 in Maine and Quebec’s Route 173.
The Corridor follows along the Kennebec and Chaudiere River Valleys and was the region’s highway long before any highways as we know them now.
After hundreds of years as a travel route and significance in trade, the English and French colonies, and French-Canadian’s migrating to the south into Maine. The Kennebec-Chaudiere Corridor traces the route taken through history and the culture. Visitors along the Kennebec-Chaudiere get to check out the recreational and scenic attractions.
