Three mobile phones and two external hard drives were also located and seized for forensic analysis.
Mr Meehan was charged with three counts of possessing child abuse material obtained or accessed using a carriage service and five counts of possessing child exploitation material.
He was also charged with possessing two butterfly knives and driving an unregistered vehicle.
Mr Meehan has been allowed out on bail - but must not interact with children without an adult present.
He will front court again next month.
The maximum penalty for the Commonwealth offences he is facing is 15 years imprisonment.
