Online safety group Netsafe is holding an information session in Kerikeri next week
to help parents protect their kids from cyberbullying. While Netsafe says the proportion of young people subjected to cyberbullying has been fairly steady over the past decade, new technology has created more potent tools for bullies.

What s 12.5m long, has a set of dragster tyres and weighs 800kg?
The answer is the world s biggest skateboard, which is currently touring Northland to promote the Kiwi skateboarding team competing at the Tokyo Olympics in July.
This year will be the first time skateboarding has been accepted as an Olympic sport since the games were founded by the ancient Greeks in 776BC (although, to be fair, skateboarding was only invented around 1950AD, more than 2700 years later).

Traditions there for a reason
There are certain traditional protocols at Waitangi, the reasons for which aren t always immediately clear. Mostly, it s to do with the navy. For instance, when 100 navy personnel marched on to the upper Treaty ground the flag was carried in the middle of the marching troop and not out front as you d expect. Why?
