Powerful moment group of young boys perform a haka after the death of their beloved physics teacher

A group of students have performed a heart-wrenching haka in honour of a much-loved physics teacher who died after a freak accident during lockdown. Over 600 students and staff from Kelston Boys High School in Auckland gathered to farewell Chris Daly after he passed away after a fall at his home on March 8.  Mr Daly was known for his ability to see the whole child, not just their academic results . Over 600 students and staff from Kelston Boys High School performed the tribute haka for the highly regarded teacher He taught science and physics, and was the manager of the school s table tennis team.

The Education Review Office (ERO) surveyed students at 67 schools nationally just after Auckland s August lockdown and found that 65 per cent of primary school students in Years 4 to 8 agreed that I am enjoying my learning . But the numbers enjoying my learning dropped to just 39 per cent in the first two years at high school, Years 9 and 10, and 33 per cent in Years 11 to 13.
