Area schools ask: How should we spend all this stimulus cash?
Prince William County Public Schools has so much money, it doesn’t know yet what to do with it.
So, it’s asking the public for ideas on how to spend nearly $90 million in federal funds it just picked up in the latest round of stimulus funding. The school division will hold a public meeting Tuesday, June 15 at 6 p.m. at the Kelly Leadership Center, and virtually as an opportunity for residents’ input.

For those who can’t attend the meetings, the school division has also placed a survey online asking residents how it would spend the cash.

Prince William keeps up pressure to return students, overrules superintendent Lateef
School leaders are hopeful they can get more children back into classrooms by March.
During an emergency meeting Tuesday, the Prince William County School Board voted to overturn Superintendent Steven L. Walts’ plan that would have delayed the return of students’ in the fourth through 12th grades until after spring break in late April.

Agenda for December 17
The
Prince William County School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2020, to discuss the school division’s next superintendent’s search process. The meeting will take place at the Kelly Leadership Center, at 14715 Bristow Road in Independent Hill.
Dr. Steven Walts, who has held the position since 2005, announced he would retire on July 31.
The
Manassas Regional Airport Commission will meet at 7 p.m Thursday, December 17, 2020. The commission will discuss a roof replacement for the city airport terminal budding and repairs to the airport tower.
The meeting will take place at City Hall, located at 9027 Center Street. The Manassas Regional Airport is Virginia’s largest and busiest municipal airport.
