Goessel City Council approves sale of fireworks – Hillsboro Free Press

Goessel City Council approves sale of fireworks by Cynthia Goerzen The Goessel city council met on May 17 and considered a request for selling fireworks. The council voted to grant the request, valid from June 27 through July 4. Fireworks can be sold between 8 am and 10:30 pm on those days. Restrictions set by the state will be in effect. The fireworks stand will be set up at the east end of town near the highway. The council did not establish discharge dates and times for fireworks; those details will be determined at next month’s meeting. Turning their attention to another matter, the council discussed water issues south of town on State Street. Mayor Dave Schrag showed pictures from the rain storm the previous day, when water had run over the road. The pictures showed where the creek needs to be cleaned out. Schrag explained that a log jam is a tree across the creek.
