PRIME Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that freedom day will go ahead as planned - despite coronavirus rates in South Lakeland continuing to rise. Social distancing regulations are set to come to an end and mask-wearing will become a matter of ‘personal choice’ from July 19, Boris Johnson announced on Monday. The decision paves the way for groups of more than six people from multiple households to hang out indoors, and for nightclubs to get the smoke machines back on. Despite mask-wearing no longer being a legal requirement, some businesses are still choosing for customers to wear face coverings upon entry.
