Pedestrian crossing being considered for dangerous road in Ballina Published: Sunday, 21 February 2021 14:22
A pedestrian crossing is being considered for a dangerous road crossing near the Quay National School in Ballina.
That’s according to local councillor John O’Hara, who raised the issue at a recent Municipal District meeting.
Parents of children attending the school made representations to him about their concerns regarding the Keanes Pub part of the road.
They claim that there is no safe way of crossing the road due to the large volumes of traffic in this scenic area.
Councillor O’Hara told Midwest News that it will take time for a crossing to be put in place at the location, as a normal pedestrian crossing may not be suitable.
