OGDENSBURG As the knowledge and protocols surrounding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic change rapidly and vaccination rates climb, the Diocese of Ogdensburg continues to consult with public health officials and its counterparts around the state as it revises safety practices for worship and parish life.
With updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, the New York State Department of Health and Bishop LaValley’s May 19 easing of COVID-19 Restrictions memo, and after consultation and prayerful consideration, Bishop Terry R. LaValley, along with the bishops of the dioceses of Syracuse, Buffalo and Rochester announced the reinstatement of the obligation to attend Sunday Mass effective June 6, the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi).
