My dear brothers and sisters in Christ:
Are you a follower of Christ or just an admirer of Christ? This distinction between followers of Christ and mere admirers of Our Savior is explained in a recently published book by Rod Dreher entitled, Live Not by Lies: A Manual for Christian Dissidents. He tells the story of an artist who is painting images of Bible stories on the wall of the village church. The artist laments his own inability to paint a true representation of Christ. Parler, which emerged as a Twitter alternative for conservatives, officially went offline on Monday after Amazon Web Services refused to host the site any longer. Following the Capitol riots on Wednesday, Apple and Google removed Parler from their app stores, claiming the site had refused to take down posts inciting violence. On Saturday, Amazon announced it would follow suit after employees pressured the company to remove Parler.

Is that correct, and do you have any suggestions for helping the family think about getting back to Church?
In the details, he’s trying to tell us something. Here’s one significant “detail” that merits our attention: When God sent us a Savior, he sent him by way of a family the Holy Family of Nazareth.
God could have chosen another way. Maybe Jesus could have blazed to earth like some superhero from another planet, or just shown up as a mysterious stranger. But the fact is that the Father entrusted his Son to human parents, Mary and Joseph.
What can we learn from the fact that Jesus had an earthly family? What does it mean for parents and children today? And is there anything about the Holy Family’s home life that we can imitate?
