Hickory Man Jailed On Break-in, Theft Charges

59-year-old Gary Lynn Johnson, who is listed as a homeless person from Hickory, was arrested Thursday (April 29) by Hickory Police Officers. He’s charged with two felony counts apiece of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen goods or property. Johnson was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $12,000 bond. A District Court date was scheduled today (April 30).

34-year-old Matthew Alan Ayotte of Whitener Drive in Hickory was arrested by Long View Police Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance. Ayotte was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility this morning (April 29) under $1,000 bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled today.

36-year-old Elizabeth Michelle Settlemyre of Andria Lane in Claremont was arrested Wednesday (April 28) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor probation violation. Probation and Parole also charged Settlemyre with felony probation violation. Settlemyre was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $15,000 bond. A District Court appearance is scheduled for next Monday (May 3).

20-year-old Clayton Robert Cook of Christopher Court in Hickory was arrested Tuesday (April 27) by Hickory Police Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of trafficking, opium or heroin, and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep controlled substance. Cook was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $500,000 bond. A District Court appearance is scheduled for May 18.

20-year-old Tristan Raysean Payne of 17th Avenue Drive NE in Hickory was arrested today (April 28) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. Payne was confined in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $20,000 bond. A District Court appearance is scheduled Thursday (April 29).
