Pile burning to begin Monday at Hearst San Simeon State Park

Crews will start burning nearly 85 brush piles Monday morning at Hearst San Simeon State Park in San Luis Obispo County to reduce fire danger.
According to a press release from California State Parks, the pile burning will last from March 8-19 as early as 7 a.m. with fire activity ending by 5 p.m. Actual burn days will be determined by weather and permit conditions.
The burning will take place in the vicinity of the Washburn Campground within Cambria s Monterey pine forest, according to State Parks officials.

California State Parks is planning to burn approximately 85 brush piles at Hearst San Simeon State Park Tuesday through March 5.
Depending on weather conditions, fire crews will start burning near the Washburn Campground within the Monterey Pine Forest as early as 5 a.m. and finish at about 5 p.m.
Officials say burning piles reduces the risk for wildfires.
California State Parks is working with the Air Pollution Control District and CAL FIRE.

Crews will burn nearly 95 brush piles starting Monday, February 7th through next Sunday in the Hearst San Simeon State Park area.
Burning may start as early as 7 a.m. and last through 5 p.m. each day, according to state rangers.
The burning will take place in the area of the Washburn Campground in the Monterey pine forest.
The prescribed burn may also take place in the southern forest east of the northern Moonstone Beach Dr. intersection with Highway 1.
Officials say this burn will help reduce fuel loads and fire hazards associated with high fuel density caused by tree mortality.
–California State Parks, in cooperation with the Air Pollution Control District and Cal Fire, will be burning approximately 95 brush piles at Hearst San Simeon State Park, in the vicinity of the Washburn Campground within the Monterey pine forest.
The controlled burns start Monday, Feb. 8, and run through Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021. Actual burn days will be determined by weather conditions and permit conditions. Ignitions may start as early as 7 a.m. with fire activity curtailed by approximately 5 p.m.
Burning may also occur in the southern forest east of the northern Moonstone Beach Drive intersection with Highway 1.
The burns are done to reduce fuel loads and fire hazards associated with high fuel density caused by tree mortality.
