Man on the run after striking Kenosha police officer, leading pursuit into Illinois

(CBS 58) A man wanted for striking a Kenosha police officer with a vehicle, is now in custody.  Police say Joseph Madura was arrested Thursday, Dec. 31.  Multiple charges, including first degree recklessly endangering safety, hit and run resulting in injury, and fleeing an officer will be referred to the Kenosha County District Attorney s office.  Published: 10:47 a.m. on Dec. 18, 2020  KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) Authorities are looking to track down a man who struck a Kenosha police officer with a vehicle on Thursday, Dec. 17.  According to police, officers were attempting to take Joseph Madura into custody for several felony warrants and a previous high-speed pursuit that happened a day earlier.

Kenosha police seek to find man they say struck officer with vehicle By FOX6 News Digital Team Published  Joseph Madura KENOSHA, Wis. - Kenosha police are seeking the public s help in their search for Joseph Madura, a man they say struck a police officer with a vehicle. Officials say around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, officers were attempting to take Madura into custody for several felony warrants and a previous high-speed pursuit on Dec. 16 in which Madura refused to stop. A Facebook post by the Kenosha Police Department says Madura struck the officer, which caused him to be thrown onto the hood of the vehicle. The officer rolled off of the vehicle landing on the ground. Madura then led the police on a pursuit through Kenosha and into Illinois.

Kenosha police are searching for a man who led officers on two high-speed vehicle chases in two days, hit a police officer with his car and fled into Illinois. The suspect, Joseph A. Madura, 31, of Kenosha is described as a white, standing 5-foot-7 and 172 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, police said. Madura was the driver of a vehicle police tried to stop shortly after 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Kenosha, a day after he led officers on a high-speed chase and eluded capture. During the attempted stop, Madura’s car hit an officer, throwing him on top of the hood before rolling off, police said. The officer suffered minor injuries.
