Some in-person hearings to resume at Kent County Circuit Court | Newsradio WOOD 1300 and 106 9 FM

Feb 3, 2021 Kent County Circuit Court is preparing to begin limited in-person hearings as trends in positive COVID-19 cases continue to fall. The Kent County Health Department says the court can begin in-person meetings again on March first. The court will not be able to hold trials yet as it is not yet safe to bring in jurors. The incident happened Jan. 4 when David Trevon Davis made “an open or indecent exposure of his person while exposing his genitals,’’ according to court records. Davis, 25, had an appearance Wednesday in Wyoming District Court. His case was bound over to Kent County Circuit Court.

Rick Snyder in 2013, the Kent School-Justice Partnership works to keep children in school to combat the high-school dropout-to-prison pipeline. As one of the key leaders, Kent County Circuit Court judge Kathleen Feeney believes the partnership’s approach to keeping students in school has become more actively trauma-informed in the last 10 years, resulting from more conversations about students’ lives outside of school.
