Missing Kent County Dog Found In Grain Silo After being trapped in a grain silo, Milo was finally re-united with his family.  I say finally because this adorable Springer Spaniel had been missing for over a month.  43 days to be exact.  The way he was found is heartbreaking. Animal Control officers responded to a call of a possible dog stranded in a silo in Sand Lake, MI last Sunday morning according to the Kent County Animal Shelter, The dog had been heard barking for a few days per town residents. Our caller had investigated the area and believed him to be stuck under a silo so contacted Animal Control for assistance.

Dog missing for 43 days rescued from old grain silo in frigid temps Updated Feb 23, 2021; The springer spaniel survived frigid temperatures, snowstorms, hunger, dehydration and a 10-foot drop into the grain silo in the 43 days during which he traveled more than 20 miles and lost 33 pounds. On Sunday, Feb. 21, Kent County Animal Control officers received a call about a dog struck in an old grain silo in Sand Lake, Mich. The caller and other locals had heard the dog barking for a few days. The caller eventually investigated the area, found the dog and called animal control for assistance. When officers arrived on the scene, three people had gathered and located the dog in an “old bunker-style silo” with smooth, 10-foot walls; there was no way for the dog to escape on its own.
