CHALLENGE PATRON: Isaac Makwala
The annual Makwala Challenge Cup football tournament, which is normally held during festive season in Tutume village, has been postponed to adhere to Covid-19 protocols.
The one-day extravaganza is held in honour of the Tutume born legendary athlete, Isaac Makwala on the 30th December.
The challenge, whose patron is Makwala, came about following the 400m runner’s extraordinary performance at the 2017 World Championships where he made the country proud by running alone and winning the heat.
The event’s Publicity Secretary, Christopher Nyanga told Voice Sport that the Covid-19 pandemic has made it impossible to go ahead with the tournament.
