Cathy Pennington is this years recipient of the Kidney Walk Award of Excellence, following her son, Christopher receiving the same award in 2019.
“It is neat to share an award with your son,” said Pennington. “We both have received the Huron-Bruce Remarkable Citizen, too, so it’s great to have these things in common. I think as parents we strive to instill certain qualities in our children. I am really proud of all the hard work Christopher has done for the Kidney foundation of Canada and his entire Crew.”

Every year Christopher organizes a walk to raise money for the Kidney Foundation.
Cathy hopes stories like Bonnie O’Reilly, mother of St. Louis Blues forward Ryan O’Reilly, who donated her kidney to a family friend will encourage others to get involved and raise awareness about kidney disease.
