Some 652 female candidates sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exam in hospitals after delivery.
The highest number was 43 students from Bungoma county.
Speaking when he released the 2020 KCSE results at Mtihani House, Education CS George Magoha said parents are to blame for the high number of pregnant candidates.
“Who is hoodwinking our children?” Magoha asked.

Education CS Professor George Magoha has finally released the much-anticipated Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE 2020) results.
A total of 752,891 students sat for the national examination that was done under the fierce Covid-19 pandemic that has hit hard various sectors in the country.
A total of 893 candidates got A plain in KCSE 2020. Candidates who have scored C+ and above are 143,140. This is the minimum entry grade to a university.
Here is the list of top 10 candidates for this year’s KCSE:

‘Human face’
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha promised that the examinations would be administered and marked “with a human face”, to assuage fears of learners who felt inadequately prepared to sit the test.
“We are all determined to ensure (that) grades awarded to our learners are all merited and that our academic qualifications are beyond reproach,” Prof Magoha said at the end of the examinations.
The CS has given today, May 10 2021, as the deadline for release of the results.
On Friday last week, he said that the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) only needed a couple of days to process the papers received from the markers.

Candidates in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exam can check their results online.
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha said the candidates should collect their results from their respective examination centres.
Individual candidate s results can be accessed by sending a candidate’s index number followed by the initials “KCSE” through a SMS to 20076.
The service was available immediately after Magoha s address at Mtihani House.

President Uhuru Kenyatta today at State House, Nairobi, received results of the examinations ahead of their release to the public.
The results were presented to the Head of State by CS George at a briefing attended by Head of Public Service Dr Joseph Kinyua, Early Learning and Basic Education PS Dr Julius Jwan, and TSC chief executive Nancy Macharia with her KNEC counterpart Mercy Karogo.

Results for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2020 are currently being released by Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha following a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House.
While announcing the results on Monday, May 10, Magoha noted that for the students to access their results, they will be required to send an SMS message to [20076
] with the candidate s index number followed by KCSE (In capital letters).
The CS also directed that there should be no spacing after the index number s last number and the initials KCSE.
