India, Tajikistan Soldiers Trade Blows At Indian Military Academy; Enquiry Ordered

Indian and Tajikistan Gentlemen Cadets (GCs) undergoing training at the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun allegedly clashed multiple times in February and March this year, The Indian Express reported on June 9.
The incident has come as a huge embarrassment for the two countries, which maintain close defense ties and conduct joint military exercises.
The Indian Army has now ordered disciplinary action against four Indian and six Tajik Cadets and issued show-causes. A battalion commander of the rank of Colonel is among the staff members who will face disciplinary action.

Lucknow, April 1 : Lt Gen Yogendra Dimri on Thursday took over as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Army s Central Command on Thursday.
After assuming charge, he paid tributes at the Smritika War Memorial to all soldiers who lost their lives in operations. He later reviewed a Guard of Honour.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Dimri was awarded the President s Gold Medal at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun for having passed out first in the order of merit. He was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers (The Bombay Sappers) on December 17, 1983.

Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh assumed charge as Chief of Staff, Western Command, at Chandimandir on Thursday. He takes over from Lt Gen Yogendra Dimri, who has been elevated as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command.
On arrival at Chandimandir, Singh laid a wreath at the Veer Smriti war memorial to pay homage to martyrs.
An alumnus of Sainik School Kapurthala, National Defence Academy, Kharakvasla and the National Defence College in Thailand, Lt Gen Manjinder was commissioned into 19 Madras in December 1986.
