Tyler McDermott of Ramsgate jailed after drugs found in plastic eggs

A drug dealer who stored drugs in a plastic egg has been sentenced to more than two years in prison.
Tyler McDermott, 21, was arrested after attending Margate Police Station in relation to an unrelated incident on October 24, 2019.

Searches of his vehicle and Ramsgate home uncovered £500-worth of ketamine, cocaine and MDMA - some of which was hidden in a plastic egg in his van.
Analysis of his phone found messages dating back at least three months arranging drug deals with users.

A man who was charged following the suspected arson attack at Napier Barracks will now appear at crown court.
Fourteen people were arrested following the disturbance at the Folkestone military camp on Friday, which is currently being used to house asylum seekers.

No serious injuries were reported as a result of the incident, however a significant amount of damage was caused to one part of the site following the blaze - which is believed to have been started deliberately.
More than £10,000 seized in county line investigation Two men have been arrested and charged as part of an investigation into a suspected county line operating from London and into parts of Kent. The arrests are in connection with supplying heroin and crack cocaine in areas including Tunbridge Wells, Folkestone, Dover and Canterbury. Kent Police executed a search warrant at a property in Catford, where officers found more than 260 grams of Class A drugs, on January 28. A firearm and ammunition were also seized, along with a lock knife and machete. Dequan Brown, aged 23, of Catford Hill, Catford was arrested and taken into custody.

A court typo left a knife robber free to strike at a Thanet supermarket after an arrest warrant was mistakenly dated with the year 3030.
Folkestone magistrates had ordered Kent Police to take drug addict Richard Champion into custody after he failed to appear in court to face an assault charge.

But when staff dated the arrest warrant more than 1,000 years in the future, it was thrown out by officers, leaving Champion at large and free to go on a mini crime spree last year.
