DA leader institutes âCV auditsâ admit call for Xanthea Limberg to be fired

Cape Town â The Western Cape ANC is of the opinion the ââDA is unravellingââ and ââwill not be surprised if more allegations of other fake qualifications are leakedââ.
With City of Cape Town Mayco member Xanthea Limberg becoming the latest high-profile DA figure to have their qualifications questioned, party leader John Steenhuisen has decided to act.
The DA will carry out a âfull auditâ on the CVs of its public representatives, Daily Maverick reported, with individuals required to provide certified copies of the degrees or diplomas listed.

Cape Town - Yet another DA member allegedly lied about their qualifications.
This time it is Xanthea Limberg, current Mayco Member for Water and Waste at the City of Cape Town.
A CV which the Weekend Argus has seen states that Limberg has a degree in Politics and Public Policy Administration from the University of Cape Town and a BA Degree in Policy Studies from Unisa. The CV was submitted to the party’s Provincial Executive Committee in January for her nomination as an executive member.

City of Cape Town says its hands are tied in removing occupants from District Six land

Cape Town - The City said the Covid-19 regulations and two court cases continue to negatively impact its powers as a landowner and enforcer of by-laws to remove occupants from the District Six restitution land.
This after the City obtained an urgent court order to interdict future land invasions in the area. However, the order does not entitle the City for the purposes of evicting occupants from the property or demolishing any occupied structures.
As of March 31, 99 informal structures have been erected in the area, with invasions taking place on 23 properties owned by the City and on other properties owned by the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and the Church of the Province of South Africa. Recent invasions took place on Freedom Day last week.
City of Cape Town gets interdict to boot District Six occupiers

Cape Town - The Western Cape High Court has granted the City of Cape Town an urgent interdict against the invaders of land in District Six, which has been earmarked for restitution.
The interim order interdicts and restrains any person from entering the properties for the purposes of unlawfully occupying or invading, erecting, completing or extending any structure on the properties, occupying any vacant structures on the properties and intimidating, threatening, harassing or assaulting, or in any way interfering with the work of officials, councillors and law enforcement.
