In the meantime, one of the five firefighters injured while tackling the blaze, is still in hospital.
Damping down and fighting new flare-ups continue, with helicopters still flying overhead.
The City of Cape Town is collecting CCTV and other footage of the Table Mountain fire as part of its investigation into how it started, as damping down and fighting flare-ups continued on Tuesday.
Community Safety MMC JP Smith said this would form part of the timeline of how and when the fire started, and the trajectory of events that followed.

JOHANNESBURG - Relief efforts for firefighters and students affected by the fire in Cape Town will continue.
The blaze - which broke out on Sunday - has been contained.
Although it s not the biggest fire to hit the Cape, it has wreaked the most havoc in terms of destruction of historic properties.
Meanwhile, the case against the man arrested in connection with starting the fire on Table Mountain has been postponed.

JOHANNESBURG - The case against a man arrested in connection with starting a fire on Table Mountain has been postponed.
The 35-year-old man made a brief appearance at the Cape Town Magistrate s Court on Tuesday.

Two Cape Town petrol attendants were sentenced to 18 months in jail , suspended for five years, for defrauding customers with cloned cards.
They allegedly used the cards when filling up for customers paying cash.
They pocketed R6 390 in cash in July 2018.

Thembalethu Jamani, 33, and Xolani Mbangi, 28, were found to have pocketed R6 390 in cash in this way in July 2018.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Zinzi Hani said their sentence for the conviction of fraud was suspended for five years on condition they were not convicted of fraud again.
