One of the biggest complaints of the initial Capcom Pro Tour Online setup was that The Grid was banned for streamed matches for the benefit of viewers over potential stage-induced lag perceived by the players, but that issue was rectified in the 2021 season rules.
You may be wondering then why none of the top 16 or top 8 matches in Japan s first qualifier for the CPT in Street Fighter 5 appeared to use the training stage despite it being legal now. It turns out they were, and we just couldn t see them.
