COVID-19 survivor to run 5K on one-year anniversary of hospitalization
COVID-19 survivor Gabriel Cid of Greenwich will run a 5K on Monday, April 12 from his home in Byram to Greenwich Hospital to mark the one-year anniversary of being admitted to the hospital with the potentially deadly disease. Cid will be running with family and friends.
Greenwich Hospital doctors, nurses and staff will greet Cid at the corner of Lafayette Place and East Putnam Ave. at 12:30 pm to run/walk the final blocks to the hospital at 5 Perryridge Road.
Cid spent 37 days at Greenwich Hospital, including 30 days in the Intensive Care Unit where he was on a mechanical ventilator for three weeks. He was discharged from Greenwich Hospital on May 18, 2020 to become the 2,500th discharged COVID-17 patient across Yale New Haven Health.
