The university also has named Distinguished Students from each of its academic schools. Alexander Pessell The Robert B. Stewart Award is presented to the graduate who most clearly exemplifies the traditions and values of Trine University through achievement in scholarship, leadership and citizenship. Each academic school at Trine nominates a graduating senior for this award; Pessell represented the Allen School of Engineering and Computing. Pessell maintained a 4.0 grade point average during his time at Trine. He completed a research experience for undergraduates during the summer of 2019 at the University of Maryland, and has been involved with research for Blaire Biomedical, a local company developing a handheld device that performs blood tests when linked to a smartphone.

Tuesday morning wreck closes US 20, at least two hurt

ANGOLA — An Angola woman was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, after a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup she was a passenger in was struck by a semi-tractor trailer on U.S. 20 at C.R. 600W Tuesday morning. Marion M. Pocock, 53, of Angola was taken first by Steuben County Emergency Medical Services to the Tri-State Steuben County Municipal Airport before being taken via a waiting Samaritan Helicopter to the Fort Wayne hospital. She was last listed in critical condition, said a media release from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department. The release said Raymond J. Parks, 26, Kendallville, was driving his 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche northbound on C.R. 600W when he failed to yield the right-of-way to the 1995 Kenworth semi-tractor trailer driven by Jose G. Fregoso, 54, Zephyrhills, Florida.

Cameron Hospital names interim President and Chief Executive Officer By Jim Measel May 3, 2021 6:22 AM ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – Cameron Memorial Community Hospital has announced that as of Monday, Angie Logan will serve as their interim president and Chief Executive Officer. Logan currently serves as Vice President of Nursing and chief nursing officer for Cameron Hospital. She will continue those duties until a permanent chief executive is in place. According to a news release, the hospital’s Board of Directors has already begun the process of hiring a permanent President and C.E.O.. Former President and C.E.O. Connie McCahill announced her retirement on March 31 after serving Cameron Hospital in that position for eight years and after being in the health care field for almost four decades. Her last day on the job was this past Friday.
