The Winthrop Men’s Basketball team continues to make waves as they added another player for the upcoming season. Cory Hightower, a transfer from Western Carolina, announced, Tuesday, that he would be following his former Head Coach Mark Prosser to Winthrop.
Hightower made 18 starts in 19 games in 2021. he finished in double figures in 16 of those games. The 6″7 forward averaged 13.8 points per game and 6.2 rebounds. He has two years of eligibility remaining. Hightower is the third addition to the Eagles team in the past week. The Eagles added D-2 transfer Cameron Whiteside (UVA-Wise) and brought back Guard Josh Corbin who had originally entered the transfer portal

Police charge four after sheep killed – Turondale
Four men have been charged after a sheep was allegedly killed at a property in the state’s Central Tablelands yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 12 January 2021), officers from the Rural Crime Prevention Team and Chifley Police District responded to reports of a group of men trespassing at a property on Turondale Road, Turondale, 40km north of Bathurst.
Police have been told a 77-year-old man – who agists sheep at the property – attended and found four men trespassing, and a dead ram that had been shot through the neck with an arrow.
When confronted by the man, the group attempted to leave the property but were prevented leaving by the owner’s vehicle until police arrived.
