Midcoast Interact invites students currently attending Camden Hills Regional High School and those entering Camden Hills in the fall of 2021 to join them for their last community project of the academic year. Scheduled for the morning of Saturday, May 29
th, students will assist West Bay Rotarians with scraping the fence at the Camden skatepark on Knowlton Street in preparation for painting. The project will start at 9 a.m. and be completed by noon.
Camden Hills Regional HS Teacher Named a Finalist for 2021 Presidential Award in Mathematics
The Maine Department of Education is pleased to announce the Maine State Selection Committee for the 2021 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) Program has selected as the state-level finalist for 7-12th grade, teacher of mathematics Lora Levenseler from Camden Hills Regional High School.
Ms. Levenseler will be honored at state ceremonies as soon as COVID-19 protocols allow.
State-level finalists are forwarded to a national selection committee comprised of mathematics and/or science educators, researchers, district officials, and past awardees who will meet to select the PAEMST awardees at the national level. The teachers chosen to be Presidential Awardees will be notified by the White House, honored at various ceremonies in Washington, D.C., and will receive $10,000 from the National Science Foundation.

APPLETON The annual town meeting for the Town of Appleton will be held Tuesday, June 8 at the Appleton Fire Station.
All articles will be voted on by secret ballot with polls open June 8 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There are two Select Board seats open and three candidates: Marci Moody Blakely, Scott K. Esancy, and John C. Fenner
There are two AVS School Board seats open and two candidates: Elizabeth Grierson, Stephen Wadsworth
There is one seat on the Five Town CSD School Board, though no papers were returned.
There are two regular planning board member positions and two associate planning board member positions available, but no papers were returned.
