Felony weapons charges filed against Cody Harding after foot pursuit

Cambridge police officers have charged a convicted felon in possession of a handgun when the city resident was arrested after a foot pursuit, with multiple felony offenses.
Cody M. Harding, 20, faces two counts of having weapons while under disability, third-degree felonies, and one count of obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony.
Harding remained incarcerated in the Guernsey County Jail awaiting a felony bond hearing in the Cambridge Municipal Court.
Harding was reportedly in possession of a loaded revolver concealed in his pants when he was arrested by city police officers after a foot pursuit on Friday that ended inside his North Fifth Street residence.

A Byesville woman was arrested by Guernsey County Sheriff s Office deputies Tuesday night at a Cambridge area residence just hours after suffering an apparent overdose at the same property.
Denise R. Miller, 34, is facing a single count of aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony, filed by detectives Wednesday.
Miller remained incarcerated in the Guernsey County jail on a $10,000 bond with no 10% allowed set during an arraignment hearing Thursday. A preliminary hearing was also scheduled for April 23 in the Cambridge Municipal Court.
Deputies reported that Miller was taken away by ambulance after suffering an apparent overdose, but later returned with a variety of suspected illegal narcotics after being released from Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, where she was taken for treatment.

Cleveland woman waives preliminary hearing for felony drug charges

The case against a Cleveland woman facing multiple drug-related felony charges was bound over to the Guernsey County Common Pleas Court after she waived her right to a preliminary hearing.
Samantha C. Paizs, 35, faces single counts of aggravated possession of drugs and possession of heroin, second-degree felonies, and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony, filed March 25 in the Cambridge Municipal Court.
She remains incarcerated in the Guernsey County Jail on a $100,000 bond with no 10% allowed.
Paizs suffered an apparent overdose during a traffic stop initiated by a State Highway Patrol trooper on Interstate 77. She was treated at Southeastern Med and released prior to being taken to jail.
