Hospitals in Waterloo region have not seen a large influx of patients in the intensive care unit, but at least one hospital says capacity is tight.

Hospitals in Waterloo region say they have not started to see requests to transfer patients from other parts of the province, but they are prepared if this is necessary.(CBC)
Drop in outbreaks, hospitalizations as 45 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Waterloo region Wednesday
Waterloo region saw 45 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday and no new deaths related to the virus. The number of outbreaks in the region dropped by two and the number of people in hospital went down by five.

37 new COVID-19 cases reported in Waterloo region Tuesday
Waterloo region saw 37 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. There are 233 cases that have screened positive for a variant of concern, including 17 that have been confirmed to be the B117 variant first discovered in the U.K.

26 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported in Waterloo region Monday
Region of Waterloo Public Health reported 26 new COVID-19 cases in the community and that two people with the illness have died. The number of hospitalizations, active cases and active outbreaks all dropped.

Chartwell Westmount outbreak declared over as region reports 32 new COVID-19 cases Thursday
A large outbreak at Chartwell Westmount long-term care home has been declared over. The outbreak, which started Dec. 27, saw 74 people living at the home and 71 staff members contract the virus and 19 people have died. Meanwhile, the region reported 32 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday.
