A man will appear in court charged with the attempted murder of notorious gangster Samer Marcus in Sydney s southwest last year.
Samer Marcus, 45, was left in a critical condition after being shot in the head at close range on Campbelltown Road in Denham Court on November 6.
The senior member of the notorious Assyrian gang DLASTHR (The Last Hour) was rushed to Liverpool Hospital with severe injuries to his chest, face and back.
Criminal groups squad commander Detective Acting Superintendent Jayne Doherty told reporters at the time that Marcus was co-operating with police from hospital, The Australian reported. His future quality of life will be severely impacted, the superintendent said.

One of the women who was caught driving toward the notorious Belanglo State Forest with an acquaintance stuffed into the boot of her own car has been hit with fresh charges for a separate incident.
Kayley Lee Ketley appeared in Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday charged with robbery while armed with a weapon and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The 24-year-old is in custody accused of stabbing Nisha Phillips, also 24, on February 3, stuffing her into the boot of her own car and driving to six locations before she was arrested en route to Ivan Milat’s former makeshift burial ground.

A 44-year-old man is facing 45 charges over the repeated sexual and physical abuse of three young girls in Sydney s southwest.
NSW Police will allege in Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday the man sexually and physically abused three girls - then aged between four and 16 - repeatedly between 1999 and 2017.
In September Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad detectives began investigating complaints three girls had been sexually abused by a man known to them.

They travelled to Noosa in Queensland in February and arrested the man on three outstanding NSW arrest warrants.

32 additional charges laid after 14 further women report sexual violence: Strike Force Honda
Detectives have laid an additional 32 charges against a man after 14 further women came forward to police to report incidents involving sexual violence.
In September last year, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad established Strike Force Honda to investigate the alleged sexual assault of a 24-year-old woman by a man known to her.
During the investigation, police received information relating to the alleged sexual assault of two further women – aged 19 and 21 – and two teenage girls – aged 15 and 16 – between August 2013 and March 2020.
