Joshua Palacios was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday in connection with the 2019 shooting death of Keith Castro.
On. Feb. 5, Palacios was convicted in Superior Court of murder as a first-degree felony. During the sentencing Wednesday, Judge Vernon Perez said he will be eligible for parole after 15 years.
On July 28, 2019, Castro was at the home of Matthew Sablan in Yigo. Court documents stated that Thomas Taitano picked a fight with Castro and attacked him.
When Palacios arrived at the Yigo home, he pointed a gun at Castro and shot him.
Police found Castro unresponsive at the scene.
Taitano turned himself in. Police located Palacios at a home in Barrigada, where the gun was found under a mattress.
