Irresponsible For Kerala University To Hold Exams From June 15 Offline: Shashi Tharoor

New Delhi: Terming the scheduling of Kerala University’s sixth-semester exams in offline mode amid Covid as “irresponsible”, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, has requested the Government of Kerala and the Governor of the state to put the exams on hold or conduct them online. Kerala University will take the exams for the students of the sixth semester from June 15. The Congress member of Parliament from Thiruvananthapuram said conducting the Kerala University 6th semester exams in physical mode will only push students into circumstances that might endanger their lives. In a social media post, Mr Tharoor said: “It s irresponsible that the Kerala University S6 exams are scheduled from 15th June. Pushing students into circumstances that may endanger many lives is an injustice.”

The Ed-Tech startup based in the US enables children on the American mainland to be tutored in Maths and Technology by students. ACET (College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram) alumna, most of Ann’s tutors are currently students of CET. Ann, who is back home right now, is working with the Kerala Technological University (KTU) to scale this up by sourcing student tutors via colleges as a merit internship. Ann had left for the US in 2006 after she passed out from CET in Computer Science. 

Kerala universities postpone exams amid COVID-19 surge

ANI | Updated: Apr 19, 2021 06:18 IST Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], April 19 (ANI): Following the intervention of Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, all exams being scheduled by the universities from Monday have been postponed in the wake of the COVID-19 surge in the state. Among those universities that postponed various exams include APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Kerala University, Calicut University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kochi, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kerala University of Health Sciences, Malayalam University and Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. Vice-Chancellors have been requested by the Governor to postpone all offline exams. The Governor has suggested that fresh dates be given based on the prevailing conditions, said the Kerala Governor s office.
